The Lithuanian border guard informed that 12 Belarusian soldiers crossed the border illegally. As it was added, the Belarusian military also pushed 35 migrants from Iraq to the other side of the border. After a few minutes, the soldiers left the territory of Lithuania.

Lithuania, which has sheltered many Belarusian opposition politicians, accuses the authorities in Minsk of deliberately allowing migrants to cross the common border, which is also the external border of the EU and the Schengen area. The Lithuanian government approved a draft law on the construction of a fence on the border with Belarus, the length of which is to be approximately 500 km. It is assumed that the fence will be built within two years, and its construction will cost over EUR 150 million.
