On Monday morning, police began chasing a car whose driver failed to stop for inspection. – A man escaping for several kilometers tried to ram a policeman, the officer fired two shots from his service weapon – reports sub-inspector Tomasz Krupa from the Podlaskie police.

The incident happened on Monday morning. Policemen in the town Small Płock carried out sobriety checks on vehicle drivers. At one point, they wanted to stop the Citroen, but its driver ignored the officers’ orders. – A chase began, in which three police patrols eventually took part – says subinsp. Tomasz Krupa from the Podlasie police.

The officer reports that the car ran for several kilometers. – The driver did not respond to commands to stop, drove the car in a way that threatened other traffic participants, cutting off the road for vehicles that tried to stop him – says the policeman.

Shots from police guns

In Janowo, the Citroen driver drove onto a private property, where his further escape route was blocked by police vehicles.

– At the moment when the officer tried to prevent further driving, the driver started to try to run over the officer. The police officer used his weapon, firing two shots towards the vehicle, reports Krupa.


As he reports, the car – apart from the 28-year-old driver – was traveling by two passengers.

– The driver has been arrested. None of the policemen were injured. Two officers’ vehicles were damaged. Investigations are underway at the scene of the arrest, police said.
