South Korean FA-50 aircraft are being supplied to the Polish army. Some of it is being prepared for transport to Europe. The recording published on the web by the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces shows how the loading of this light fighter looks like.

The General Command of the Armed Forces Branches published a recording on Twitter on Saturday showing the loading of one of the FA-50s, i.e. light training and combat aircraft ordered by the Polish government. The machines are manufactured by the South Korean company Korea Aerospace Industries.

In June, Minister of National Defense Mariusz Blaszczak took part in the public display of the FA-50 in South Korea.

Poland ordered 48 copies of this light fighter. The contract for their supply was approved in September last year. In June, Błaszczak expressed his belief that there will be further cooperation between Poland and South Korea in the field of military equipment.

The first 12 aircraft are to be delivered in the near future. In turn, another 36 machines are to reach Poland from South Korea in the years 2025-2028.

Polish pilots have already completed training in FA-50 aircraft in South Korea, including combat use, dogfights and interceptions.

Two-seat combat aircraft

The FA-50 Fighting Eagle is a South Korean light two-seater combat aircraft. According to the Armament Agency, its basic armament is a 20 mm cannon and a wide range of airborne armament, including AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, AGM-65 Maverick air-to-surface missiles, as well as several types of aerial bombs of various types.

It is powered by a 17.7 thousand lb (79 kN) turbofan engine with an afterburner. The maximum speed is Mach 1.5 (1837.5 km/h). The operational range of the aircraft is 1,800 km, and its maximum ceiling is 14.6 km. The curb weight of the aircraft is 6.47 t, with a maximum take-off weight of 12.3 t, which allows it to carry armament weighing up to 4.5 t.
