Police officers from Łódź detained a 27-year-old man who entered the apartment of a 10-year-old boy and, threatening him with a knife, forced him to hand over PLN 25,000 belonging to his parents. The suspect was placed in custody by court decision. He faces up to 20 years in prison for robbery with a dangerous weapon
The incident took place on December 23. A ten-year-old boy left the house to a nearby shop on Okrzei Street. While he was shopping, an unknown man approached him and asked about his parents. The boy told him that he was alone because his relatives had gone Christmas shopping. As reported by Asst. Kamila Sowińska from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łódź, a stranger, expressed concern for the 10-year-old's safety, advised him to go home quickly, and then left himself.

The policewoman describes that the boy returned home after shopping, opened the door with a key, but when he wanted to close it behind him, he felt resistance. – It was a masked attacker who pushed him away and broke into the apartment. Threatening him with a knife, he ordered the 10-year-old to point out the places where his parents' savings were hidden. The scared boy gave the aggressor over PLN 25,000. After taking the loot, the man ran out of the apartment, Sowińska reports.

The case was handled by investigators from the police station in Polesie in Łódź. They established the attacker's details and detained the 27-year-old at his place of residence. During the search, they found the stolen money. The suspect was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. He faces up to 20 years in prison for this crime. At the request of the Łódź-Polesie District Prosecutor's Office, the court decided to arrest the detainee for three months.
