MPO: declines began at the beginning of the heating period

– We collect about 11,000 tons of waste per year, but we noticed that in the previous months – January, December, November – there was definitely less bulky waste, i.e. furniture. This decrease is about 30, 40 percent compared to the previous year – says Tomasz Kacprzak, director of waste management at the MPO in Łódź. He adds: – Now we receive about 600-650 tons of furniture per month, which is definitely less than it was before, so residents save money or burn furniture in furnaces.
