Road workers have opened Strykowska Street in Łódź, which is a part of national road number 14, to traffic. For several weeks, drivers driving towards the A1 and A2 motorways have had to expect major traffic disruptions. There were big traffic jams in the city. More than 16,000 cars pass the road daily.
Strykowska Street (part of national street 14) is one of the busiest streets in Łódź. According to the last general traffic measurement (data from 2020), the number of cars on the border of the city of Łódź and the commune of Stryków exceeded over 16,000. The road was damaged in many places – it had ruts and potholes.
Its renovation had been going on for several weeks over a distance of several kilometers. Driving along the route was only possible from Stryków to the city center.
During rush hours in Łódź, there were huge traffic jams – including on Inflancka Street, and previously on al. Grzegorz Palka.

Car traffic has returned to Strykowska in Łódź
According to Tomasz Andrzejewski, spokesman for the Road and Transport Authority in Łódź, Strykowska Street was opened to traffic on Saturday evening.
– From Okólna to Inflancka we can now go in both directions. The works have been completed and we can fully use the new road. Buses are also back on the route. In addition, we continue to replace the surfaces towards the city border. Work is being carried out here under heavy traffic, Andrzejewski said.
