Lodz policemen chased an 18-year-old driver who did not stop for inspection through the streets of the city. The runaway teenager committed a number of offenses, including driving against the flow and speeding. After being stopped, it turned out that he did not have a driving license at all.
The chase took place on Tuesday afternoon. The policemen decided to stop the passenger Ford for inspection because they noticed that the car was damaged and that the driver and passenger did not have their seat belts fastened. Initially, the man pulled over to the side of the road, but after a while he suddenly moved towards ul. Bandurski. The policemen followed him.
– A Ford driver just before Aleja Włókniarzy – disregarding the provisions of the road traffic law and the risk posed to people traveling by trams – drove onto a separate track, then crossed the pedestrian crossing and continued his escape along the pavement – reports the young asp. Jadwiga Czyż from the Road Traffic Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łódź. And he adds: – The driver did not react to the signals to stop given by the policemen following him. He broke the regulations again and, turning right into Kopernika Street, did not comply with the entry ban, and then drove into Łąkowa Street against the current.

Road pirate stop
Finally, the second police car of the Lodz highway joined the chase. And the chased driver lost control of the car at the next intersection and hit the cars that were waiting for the traffic lights to change.
That still did not induce the rider not to flee. He ran out of the car with the 17-year-old passenger. The officers followed the fugitives. The passenger was picked up by a policewoman, a few moments later there was another man in the hands of the uniformed. They were both handcuffed and led to the police car – Czyż added.
As Marcin Fiedukowicz from the Łódź police explains, the chase through the streets of the city lasted about 10 minutes. – The officers – as far as possible, as the traffic conditions allowed – detained the man as soon as possible – emphasizes Fiedukowicz.
The examination showed that both detainees were sober. However, it quickly turned out that the 18-year-old did not have the driving license. Now he will be brought to court for escaping from police control and committing numerous offenses in road traffic. He is facing a penalty of up to 5 years imprisonment.
