Łódź, Retkinia. Over 30 cars damaged, the police are looking for the perpetrators

Over 30 cars were damaged in the Retkinia housing estate in Łódź. According to police, the windows of most of the vehicles were broken, and there were supposed to be two perpetrators. – An inspection has been carried out, evidence is secured, witnesses are questioned. These perpetrators will be responsible for the destruction of property of a hooligan nature, the uniform emphasizes.

The incident took place on the night from Sunday to Monday in the Retkinia housing estate in Łódź. Photos of damaged cars parked on several streets have been posted on social media.

– Here, at Kusocińskiego, they destroyed over 10 cars, but I saw vehicles with broken windows also on Armia Krajowa, Wyszyński and Popieluszko. The windows were smashed to pieces, as if someone had used a special hammer, one of the inhabitants of Łódź tells us. Another adds: – Suitcases with clothes were taken from one of the cars. It’s hard to comment on it rationally, because I’ve heard all sorts of things – screams in this neighborhood, libations – but nothing like this has ever happened here.

The injured people began to report to the police. Officers were on duty in the area on Monday.

Information about the damage to the cars is confirmed by the Lodz police. – On August 7, Lodz policemen went to intervene in the parking lot at Kusocińskiego Street, where the reporting person reported that two people broke windows in vehicles that were parked there and then left. Officers found damage to 13 vehicles only there – informs staff sergeant Maksymilian Jasiak from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łódź. He adds: – To date, more than 30 injured car owners have reported to the third police station in Łódź.

– At the moment, activities are being carried out to determine the identity of the perpetrators, the vehicles have been inspected, the evidence in this case is being secured, and witnesses are being questioned. These perpetrators will be responsible for the destruction of property of a hooligan nature – emphasizes Jasiak. Police officers are asking people who saw what happened on the night from Sunday to Monday in the Retkinia estate to contact the third police station at 33 Armii Krajowej Street in Łódź.
