Policemen from the Łódź traffic police detained a 19-year-old motorcyclist who, driving one of the main streets of the city, along Jana Pawła II Avenue, exceeded the speed limit by almost 100 kilometers per hour. The officers detained his driving license and gave him a high fine.
The incident took place on Saturday (July 9). The attention of the policemen was caught by a motorcyclist who was racing along the flyover towards Wróblewskiego Street. The laser speedometer showed 166 km / h at the 70 km / h limit. – Officers immediately detained the Suzuki for inspection. The 19-year-old motorcyclist was surprised by the sight of the policemen, he repeatedly said that he did not expect them in this place – reports Jadwiga Czyż from the road traffic department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łódź. He adds that the control of the 19-year-old’s driving license and the technical condition of the motorcycle did not reveal any irregularities.
For the young motorcyclist, the dangerous ride resulted in a fine of PLN 2.5 thousand and eight penalty points. The police also detained the driving license of a resident of Łódź for a period of three months.
Police officers remind that riding a motorcycle requires responsibility and even the slightest mistake may result in a serious accident. – Adjusting the speed to traffic conditions, as well as kindness towards others, the lack of aggression and compliance with the law make us safer on the road. Such an attitude is also a way to avoid nerves, fines, stopping the driving license, and accidents, even the most tragic ones – reminded Jadwiga Czyż.
