There is a building permit for a modern, 72-meter Golden Tower apartment building in the center of Łódź. The first works are to start next summer and are to last two years. Despite this, a businessman from Łódź, an investor Piotr Misztal, who owns the plot of land on which the building will be built, announced that he will demand multi-million compensation from the city for a one-year delay in the construction of the building. The office spokesman informs that he is waiting for a potential lawsuit from the businessman.
The Golden Tower building is to be built in the very center of Łódź – at the intersection of Piłsudskiego and Piotrkowska streets and is to be one of the most modern apartment buildings in the city. According to the plans, it is to be 72 meters high, and most of the floors will be occupied by high-class apartments – a total of 85 to 110 apartments. A year ago, it was estimated that its construction would cost about PLN 60 million, now a Łódź businessman, investor and owner of the plot on which the building is to be built, Piotr Misztal, is talking about PLN 100 million.

Building permit and lawsuit for 40 million in damages
Piotr Misztal confirmed in an interview with tvn24.pl that he had received permission to build an apartment building with a one-year delay. He announced that he would be seeking compensation from the city for millions in court. He said that a lawsuit was being filed in this case. – Prices have changed over the past year, if I had signed construction contracts a year ago, the prices would have been different, and now we have different prices, everything has gone up. The construction price per square meter a year ago was around four, five thousand. And now it is eight, ten thousand – said Misztal. – I will demand the equivalent of this difference, which is approximately 40 million zlotys – added the businessman from Łódź. – We had permission to move the network, the city stopped the construction for many months, because Wojska Polskiego Street (it was undergoing renovation) had priority, even though we were the first to have a work permit. We had to sign new contracts and pay more money for the same thing – he argued.

“We are waiting for the potential lawsuit to be delivered”
Our journalist asked the spokesman for the Łódź City Hall for a comment on the announced lawsuit and whether officials made a mistake by suspending the investment a year ago. He also asked about the details of the decision issued in August on the permit for the construction of the apartment building. – The decision on the permit for the construction of the Golden Tower building was issued on August 19. It must be received by all parties to the proceedings (this also applies to owners of neighboring properties), and these parties may appeal this decision within two weeks of its receipt. The Golden Tower investor previously received a permit to make connections for the future building and was carrying out this task – said Paweł Śpiechowicz. – It is difficult for us to respond to Mr. Piotr Misztal's allegations at the moment, we are waiting for the potential lawsuit mentioned by Mr. Misztal to be delivered. We will then familiarize ourselves with the content of the lawsuit and will be able to comment on the matter in more detail – he added.

When will Golden Tower be in Lodz?
– At the moment, architects are making construction designs. According to the agreement, we are to receive them by the end of March next year. After that, we will select a contractor, we hope that June, July, August, maybe we will slowly apply ourselves to the contractor and to the physical commencement of construction – informed Piotr Misztal. He added that the modern apartment building in the center of Łódź will be built within the next two years. – It is to be a super-exclusive building. The entire floor will be dedicated to swimming pools, matters related to biological regeneration. There will definitely be a multi-level parking lot, there will also be a restaurant – described the businessman.
