Police officers from Łódź closed down a car repair shop operating in the Zgierz district, where stolen vehicles were dismantled for parts. Audi and BMW cars with a total value of over PLN 350,000 were recovered. A 26-year-old man was arrested and faces up to five years in prison for fencing.

The place where stolen cars from Łódź and the surrounding area were sent was handled by police officers for combating car crime. The officers observed the area of ​​one of the properties and when they were sure that a car was being dismantled in the garage, they began their actions.

According to Deputy Commissioner Adam Dembiński from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Łódź, after entering, the police saw an Audi worth over PLN 200,000 stolen a few days earlier from Łódź, as well as fragments of other vehicles. – A 26-year-old man was detained at the scene while dismantling the vehicle. Additionally, a dismantled BMW worth PLN 150,000 was found on the property. In turn, in the bus parked on the plot, as well as in other utility rooms, there were further car parts, including body, suspension and steering components, donated by Dembiński.

The 26-year-old was charged with stolen goods and was arrested by the court for three months. He faces a sentence of up to five years in prison.
