There was a fight in Łomża (Podlaskie Voivodeship) over the weekend. Four men were charged. The fifth was taken to hospital with cuts. Initial police findings show that one of the participants in the fight had a samurai sword.
The police received a report on Saturday (October 5) in the early morning hours. There was a fight on one of the streets in Łomża.
– The police detained four men aged 19 to 33. One of them was first taken to hospital, where he was treated, says Commissioner Marta Rodzik from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Białystok.
24-year-old with cuts
He adds that the fifth participant in the fight was also taken to hospital.
– He is a 24-year-old who had cuts. He is still in hospital, the policewoman notes.
He also informs that preliminary findings show that one of the participants in the fight had a samurai sword.
They have already heard the charges
– Two of the detainees will be charged under paragraph 158, paragraph 2 of the Penal Code, i.e. for participating in a fight resulting in serious bodily injury, and the remaining two will be charged under paragraph 159, i.e. for participating in a fight with the use of a dangerous weapon – says Comm. Rodzik.
The first offense is punishable by one to 10 years, and the second offense by six months to eight years' imprisonment.
– We are determining the details of the incident – emphasizes the policewoman.
