The police are investigating the circumstances of the hit-and-run that occurred on Legionów Avenue in Łomża (Podlaskie Province). – A 26-year-old woman walking a stroller with a nearly one-year-old child was hit by a car while crossing a pedestrian crossing – informed Staff Sergeant Karolina Wojciekan from the local district headquarters.
Staff Sergeant Wojciekan said the incident occurred on Thursday at around 5:20 p.m. – A woman pushing a stroller was crossing a pedestrian crossing on Legionów Avenue. A Toyota passenger car driven by a 66-year-old man hit the woman and the child – said an officer from the District Police Headquarters in Łomża.
He adds that the driver of the passenger car was sober, as was the 26-year-old woman who was hit.
– The driver claimed that he did not notice the woman crossing the street with a stroller – informed Senior Sergeant Wojciekan.
The woman was taken to hospital
The policewoman said that the 26-year-old complained of pain after the incident and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
– The child who was in the stroller is in good condition – said Aspirant Wojciekan.
