Łomża policemen, who were called to an intoxicated man, recognized that the person lying on the street had symptoms of hypoglycemia. The officers provided the diabetic with first aid until the ambulance arrived.

In the evening of March 10, Łomża police officers received a report that an intoxicated man was lying on the pavement on one of the streets in the city center. The uniforms who arrived at the scene determined that alcohol was not the cause of the 35-year-old’s malaise. After checking the man’s pulse, the officers moved him to the police car and called an ambulance.

Police officers diagnosed the man with symptoms of hypoglycemia, i.e. low blood sugar. One of the policemen gave him his drink. Only after drinking it, the 35-year-old felt better and better by the minute. The contact with him was getting better and better. Marcin Gawryluk from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łomża

As the uniformed officer emphasizes, all police officers, especially officers of the patrol service and road traffic, who attend calls to people in need, systematically undergo first aid training.
