“Mom was riding a scooter and hit a fence” – this was the report received by police officers from Łomża (Podlaskie Voivodeship). At the scene they found a 47-year-old woman and her 23-year-old son. They both had nearly one and a half per mille of alcohol in their bodies. It turned out that in this condition the son was teaching his mother how to ride a scooter.
It started when the police in Łomża received a report saying “mother was riding a scooter and hit a fence.”
“At the scene, the police found a 47-year-old woman and her 23-year-old son. During the conversation, the officers smelled alcohol from both of them. Each of them had nearly 1.5 per mille of alcohol in their body,” says the Municipal Police Headquarters in Łomża in a statement.

The woman stated that her son was teaching her how to drive and was sitting in the back. While driving, she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a property fence. The son, on the other hand, confirmed that he taught his mother how to drive, but – as he claimed – he stood on the side and only watched the whole incident, he was not a participant in it.
“The woman was taken from the scene of the incident by an ambulance crew, and her son spent the night in police custody,” the uniform said.
The police are establishing the exact version of events. Driving under the influence is punishable by up to two years in prison.
