A 59-year-old doctor on duty at the Emergency Department of a hospital in Krosno (Podkarpackie Voivodeship) had two per mille of alcohol in his body. The hospital terminated the contract with the doctor “with immediate effect.”

The incident took place on Monday (February 26) in the evening. As Deputy Commissioner Paweł Buczyński, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Krosno, said in an interview with tvn24.pl, around 7 p.m. the Krosno police received a signal about a “probably” intoxicated member of the medical staff of the hospital in Krosno.

The police went to the scene. – The 59-year-old man had over two per mille of alcohol in his body – said Deputy Commissioner Paweł Buczyński.

He added that the police are establishing the detailed circumstances of this incident.

The hospital terminated the contract with the doctor

Leszek Kwaśniewski, director of the Podkarpackie Provincial Hospital, briefly commented on the matter in a statement sent to our editorial office. John Paul II in Krosno.

– One of the doctors on duty at the Hospital Emergency Department on February 26 was under the influence of alcohol. After the police confirmed his state of intoxication, the doctor was taken off duty and his contract was terminated with immediate effect, we read.
