The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate announced on Monday the withdrawal of certain batches of Isola BIO cream and plant-based drinks. The reason is the use of a component contaminated with ethylene oxide.
It concerns the following products: BEZGL soybean cooking cream. BIO 200 ml with the batch number 210209 with the EAN code 8023678426103, the date of minimum durability is 02/09/2022; coconut drink without sugar with calcium without sugar. BIO 1 l. With batch numbers 201123, 210215, 210316 with the EAN code 8023678728078; coconut drink with coconut water BEZGL. BIO 1 l with batch number 210223 with the EAN code 8023678728269 and sugar-free almond drink with calcium BEZGL. BIO 1 with lot number 210301 with EAN code 8023678728047.
As part of a public food warning, GIS said their production was contaminated with ethylene oxide. “It is a substance harmful to health. Its presence in food in the European Union is not allowed” – stated in the press release.
It has been added that the batches of products specified in the communication should not be consumed.
GIS announced that the manufacturer is Abafoods SRL. Together with the distributor in Poland, the company Eko-Wital Sp. z o. o., ul. Staniewicka 5, 03-310 Warsaw, withdraws the above-mentioned products from the Polish market.
It was noted that the bodies of the State Sanitary Inspection were monitoring the process of withdrawing the above-mentioned batch of cream and plant-based drinks from the market.
