A court in Łowicz (Łódź Province) arrested a 33-year-old man for three months, who stabbed a 23-year-old woman in the stomach during a street brawl in the city center. Earlier that day, according to police, the perpetrator hit the man in the head with a bottle. He now faces up to 15 years in prison.
The incident happened on Thursday (December 1) at night. The police officer on duty received a report about a brawl of a group of people in the center of Łowicz.
A woman stabbed in the stomach with a knife
– When the police went to the place, it turned out that one of the women was stabbed in the stomach by a man who fled after the incident. The 23-year-old woman was taken to the hospital due to her injuries. The policemen gave chase to the attacker. They checked all the nearby streets. According to Szymczak, the detained inhabitant of Łowicz is known to the officers from previous conflicts with the law. “Moreover, the police determined that earlier in the day he had hit another man on the head with a bottle,” the police officer said. The 33-year-old heard two prosecutorial charges of causing grievous bodily harm and violation of the function of a body organ for less than seven days. He faces up to 15 years in prison. By decision of the District Court in Łowicz, the suspect was arrested for three months.
