The owner of a hotel in Łowicz (Łódź Voivodeship) died after being brutally beaten by two Georgian citizens. The attackers were detained near the railway station, they were temporarily arrested. The prosecutor’s office reports that they attacked the 68-year-old and his son because they demanded overdue payments.
The policemen from Łowicz were alerted on Wednesday, September 15. Around 4 p.m. the duty officer of the district headquarters heard about the beating of the owner of the hotel hotel and his son. The attackers were to be two 26-year-old Georgians who lived in the hotel.
– The men were taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, the older of the men died after a few days in a hospital in Łódź, says Commissioner Urszula Szymczak, spokesman of the Lowicz command.
The attackers were detained on the day of the attack.
– The officers apprehended them in the area of the railway station. They were both under the influence of alcohol – communicates Szymczak.
Change of charges

– On Friday, a forensic medical examination of the body of the deceased 68-year-old took place. It showed that the cause of death was extensive head injuries – says Krzysztof Kopania from the Łódź district prosecutor.
He adds that due to the death of the 68-year-old, the accusations against Georgians will be modified.
Because they didn’t want to pay
The prosecutor’s office is trying to recreate the course of events that took place on September 15.
– On Friday, two Ukrainian citizens who saw the course of the event were questioned – says the prosecutor of Kopania.
The preliminary scenario adopted by the prosecutor’s office is that the 68-year-old and his son appeared in the room where the Georgians lived. They demanded overdue payment for the stay and said that the foreigner had to move out. Then the 26-year-olds were about to attack.
