A 28-year-old woman driving a passenger car on the Lubartów bypass (Lubelskie Voivodeship), for unknown reasons, drove into the opposite lane and collided with a truck. The woman was killed instantly. A six-year-old boy traveling with her was transported by helicopter to the hospital. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police.
This tragic accident took place on Monday (November 15) after 12 noon on the Lubartów bypass.
– According to the preliminary findings of the policemen, the 28-year-old woman driving the Audi, driving from Kock towards Lublin, for unknown reasons, drove – on a straight section of the road – into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a truck – says senior sergeant Jagoda Stanicka from the District Headquarters Police in Lubartów.
The 28-year-old is dead, the 6-year-old was hospitalized
The 28-year-old died on the spot. According to the police, the woman’s six-year-old son was transported to the hospital by a helicopter of the Polish Medical Air Rescue.
– On the other hand, a 47-year-old truck driver was not injured. He was sober – the policewoman points out.
The police investigate the details of the accident
Determining the details of the event is in progress. On Tuesday, it was still unclear why the 28-year-old turned into the opposite lane.
After the accident, the road in this place was impassable for several hours. Drivers were directed to detours.
