A 20-year-old Belarusian who has been charged with fraudulent activity will be arrested for three months. The man is suspected that, claiming to be a policeman, he demanded money from a married couple from Lublin. The elderly gave him almost 25,000 zlotys. The 20-year-old was detained in Poznań.
The fraud took place in May in Lublin. An alleged policeman called the couple of pensioners, informing about an accident caused by a relative. He said bail money was needed to avoid arrest for a family member.
– Unfortunately, the seniors believed in the made-up story and prepared all the savings. Soon after, for cash, in the amount of almost 25,000 zlotys, a false officer came – says commissioner Kamil Gołębiowski from the City Police Headquarters in Lublin.
