Lublin. He got a job at a pawnshop, then robbed it

The 27-year-old was employed in one of the pawnshops in Lublin (Lubelskie Voivodeship) and later robbed him, the police reported. He then tried to sell some valuables at a competing pawn shop. The owner estimated the loss at nearly PLN 15,000.

As Chief Commissioner Kamil Gołębiowski, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Lublin, reported, the police officers received a notification in this case from the owner of one of the Lublin pawnshops. – The man reported that there had been two thefts of jewelry. He estimated total losses at nearly $15,000. The first findings indicated that the act was committed by one of the employees, the uniformed officer reported.

As he informed, the collected materials led the police to a 27-year-old resident of Świdnik. – The man was arrested a few days ago. As it turned out, he tried to put some of the stolen valuables in a competitive pawn shop, said the uniformed officer.

The 27-year-old was charged with two counts of theft and one count of fraud in a sale. According to Gołębiowski, the man pleaded guilty to the charges against him. “The police recovered some of the stolen property during the operation,” he added.

The 27-year-old faces up to eight years in prison.
