In Świdnik (Lubelskie Voivodeship), a 53-year-old driving a passenger car did not keep a safe distance and drove into the back of a police car, which stopped in front of a pedestrian crossing. The man got behind the wheel despite having his license revoked, and the car he was driving had no liability insurance.

Senior aspirant Elwira Domaradzka, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Świdnik, informed that the incident took place on Tuesday (February 14) around 9:30 am on Niepodległości Street in Świdnik.

– A 53-year-old resident of the city, driving a Mercedes vehicle, as a result of not keeping a safe distance, drove into the back of the Świdnica traffic police car, which stopped in front of the crossing to let a pedestrian pass – said the policewoman.

According to the police, the 53-year-old should not be behind the wheel at all, because his license was revoked. In addition, the vehicle he was driving did not have a current insurance policy. – The offender’s vehicle was towed away. The man will be responsible for causing a threat to road safety, as well as for driving despite revoked licenses and without a valid OC policy, said senior aspirant Elwira Domaradzka.

According to her, all participants of the incident were sober.
