Two red kittens, which one of the passers-by noticed near the garbage dump, found their way to the Shelter for Homeless Animals in Lublin. The animals were in a cardboard box with holes drilled into it. Now they are waiting for a new home. The shelter staff gave them names in honor of the district attendant who took care of the animals.

The abandoned animals were found on Sunday (November 7) around 10.40 am next to the garbage can in Faraona Street in Lublin.

– The quadrupeds were in a cardboard box with holes drilled into it. The animals were most likely abandoned by someone – says Commissioner Kamil Gołębiowski from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Lublin.

A district officer from the fourth police station was sent to the place. – The officer took care of the scared cats. He gave them a drink and then called the employees of a nearby shelter – says Gołębiowski.

It turned out that the animals are representatives of the European Shorthair cat breed. – We named them after the district officer who took care of them. They are Officer 1 and Officer 2 – says Ms Aleksandra, one of the shelter’s employees.

She added that the kittens were 17 weeks old. – Their health is good. They will wait for a new owner with us – he emphasizes.
