Lucynów. The wheel broke off the truck and rolled onto the moving S8 cars. “Like a bowling ball”

The broken truck wheel fell into the opposite lane of the S8 route and damaged several vehicles. The police describe it as hitting oncoming cars like a bowling ball. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The collision occurred on Thursday on the S8 route in Lucynów in the Wyszków district. – As initially determined by officers from the Wyszków traffic police, the truck's speeding wheel, interrupted while driving, jumped over the barriers into the opposite lane of the S8 road and, like a bowling ball, hit three passenger cars traveling there. Fortunately, the participants of this unfortunate event were not injured – reports Deputy Commissioner Wioleta Szymanik, spokeswoman of the District Police Headquarters in Wyszków.

He adds that traffic at the scene of the collision was unimpeded. Its balance includes damaged bumpers, headlights, fenders and leaks of operating fluids.

Before traveling, it is worth checking the condition of the car

The police reminds that car inspection does not end after a periodic technical inspection of the vehicle.

– Many drivers forget to look under the hood from time to time, check the level of operating fluids, tire tread wear, operation of lights, proper attachment of a child seat, as well as equipping the vehicle with a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher and a warning triangle. They get behind the wheel and hit the road. Unfortunately, when a tire explodes or another failure occurs, it may already be too late to repair the defect – warns Assistant Commissioner Szymanik.

Officers encourage you to regularly check the technical condition of your vehicle, especially before a long journey. – These are just a few activities that significantly affect road safety – emphasizes the spokeswoman for the Wyszków police.
