A thousand zlotys fine and eight points is a penalty for a truck driver who overtook another truck on S8. From July 1, so-called elephant races are banned.
The ban on overtaking trucks by other trucks applies on motorways and expressways with two lanes in one direction. This is intended to improve traffic flow on the main communication routes. According to the officers, one of the truck drivers did not comply with the applicable regulations. Ostrów police officers, part of the Masovian SPEED group, registered this offense in the morning on Monday, October 9.
They noticed the driver of a Volvo truck driving along the S8 road through Lucynów in the Wyszków district overtaking another truck.
Fine and penalty points
– The offense was recorded by a video recorder in an unmarked police car. The police stopped the truck driver for a road check. He turned out to be a 38-year-old resident of the Wyszków district. For this offense, the man was punished with a fine of PLN 1,000 and eight penalty points, said aspirant Marzena Laczkowska from the police in Ostrów Mazowiecka in a statement.
As the police pointed out, if the driver commits the same offense again, the fine will increase to PLN 2,000 and his account will increase by another eight penalty points.
