“My mother, Ludwika Wujec, passed away today. She was 83 years old,” Paweł Wujec announced on Facebook on Sunday. “We would like to thank all friends and acquaintances who so eagerly – and sometimes in crowds – visited Mom in recent years. Mom loved these meetings, she lived for them, they gave her a lot of joy. She loved life and people,” he wrote.

“Mom has missed Dad very much in recent years. I secretly hope that now they are together again. We will inform you about the details of the funeral later. We need a moment of silence,” he added.

“A brave woman of Solidarity. Henryk's wife. She fought for democracy and freedom of speech and achieved it. I could always count on your kindness. This year, we will celebrate the anniversary of June 4 without you. A very sad day,” wrote MP Michał Szczerba on the X platform.

“Ludwika Wujec died. A wonderful, wonderful, wise woman. I had the honor of knowing her and often enjoying her company. I will never forget the evening of December 13, 2018, with her and Henryk, when they told the Free Courts and Krakow judges their impressions of the frosty December 1981 ” – wrote Michał Wawrykiewicz, co-founder of the “Free Courts” initiative.

Paweł Kowal also commented on the news about Ludwika Wujec's death. “Dear Ludka. (…) a wonderful and wise person, a great figure in Polish history,” we read in the entry.
