Łuków beef tartare recalled due to contamination with Salmonella and Escherichia coli bacteria

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate reported that two dangerous bacteria were detected in samples of beef tartare – Salmonella and Escherichia coli (STEC). Consumption of contaminated meat poses a risk of food poisoning. One batch of the product is being withdrawn from stores.

“As a result of official activities of the State Sanitary Inspection, Salmonella and Escherichia coli (STEC) bacteria were detected in tested samples of beef tartare from the batch specified below” – informs the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS).

The Office warns that “consumption of a product contaminated with Salmonella and Escherichia coli (STEC) is associated with the risk of food poisoning.”

Beef tartare from Łuków withdrawn due to detection of Salmonella and Escherichia coli STEC bacteria GIS

GIS reported that “the manufacturer immediately after receiving information about the product's non-compliance, initiated the procedure for withdrawing the disputed batch from circulation”, and official food control bodies are supervising the process of withdrawing the disputed batch from circulation.

“Do not consume the product from the batch covered by the notification. If you experience any disturbing symptoms after consuming the batch of the above-mentioned product, contact your doctor,” the office noted.
