Three members of the same family, one after the other, were detained for drunk driving. First, the 43-year-old drunk hit the parked trailer. Then the man’s brother-in-law came to the scene of the police intervention under the influence of alcohol. To avoid being towed, the 30-year-old asked his drunk wife to move the car to the parking lot. Their nine-year-old daughter witnessed the situation.
On Saturday afternoon, the police officer on duty received a notification of a road incident near Lubin (Lower Silesia). The woman informed that a Volkswagen driver had driven into her trailer parked in front of the property. She added that the man is most likely drunk and aggressive, so she took the keys from the ignition of his car.
The owner of the car walked away on foot before the arrival of the policemen. That is why the patrol, after talking with the victim, began searching.
– Moments later, the policemen noticed a man who corresponded to the description given by the reporting person. He was staggering on his feet and had trouble keeping his balance. The officers detained a 43-year-old resident of the Polkowice poviat. A breathalyzer test showed over two per mille of alcohol in his body, informs Sylwia Serafin, a spokeswoman for the police in Lubin.

A chain of drunk drivers
During the intervention, a passenger Audi drove up to the place. Behind the wheel was the detainee’s brother-in-law. When he approached the policemen, they immediately noticed a strong scent of alcohol. The 30-year-old was also detained, the breathalyzer test showed over two per mille of alcohol. The man also did not have the power to drive. However, this did not prevent him from taking his wife and 9-year-old daughter with him.
– This is not the end of this family’s problems. The resident of Głogów, not wanting to leave the car on the street, asked his wife to move the car. The woman got into the driver’s seat and drove the car to a nearby parking lot. After a while she returned to her place on foot. Her behavior aroused the suspicions of the officers – describes Serafin. Therefore, the policemen decided to check the sobriety of the woman. It turned out that the 36-year-old is also drunk. – She had nearly one and a half per milliliter of alcohol in her body. The woman stated that she had come to help her brother and admitted that she had previously drunk four beers. She didn’t see anything wrong with the fact that she reparked the car when she was drunk – adds Serafin.

The couple was taken to a police cell, and their child was handed over to a sober person from the family. Investigators reported the whole situation to the family court. The 30-year-old heard the accusation of driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, without authorization, as well as the risk of losing the health or life of a minor child. His wife will be responsible for drunk driving. The policemen detained her driving license. The 43-year-old will also be responsible for driving under the influence of alcohol. Officers also detained his driving license. Additionally, the man will be responsible for causing communication damage.
