According to investigators, the man did not exercise particular caution when reversing the delivery vehicle. He pleaded guilty. He faces up to eight years in prison.
An indictment was brought to court against 25-year-old Filip K., who in April he hit a 47-year-old woman on Krakowskie Przedmieście (the so-called promenade) in Lublin. She was taken to hospital in a serious condition. Despite medical help, her life could not be saved.
The investigators’ findings show that the man did not exercise particular caution when reversing the delivery vehicle in a pedestrian zone.

Prosecutor’s Office: he did not give way
According to Agnieszka Kępka, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, the 25-year-old was charged with intentional violation of safety rules in land traffic.
– He did not give way to a pedestrian moving in the same direction – the prosecutor notes.

He adds that the vehicle rear-ended a woman who “got under the vehicle’s chassis and suffered numerous bodily injuries resulting in death.”
He pleaded guilty and gave explanations
– During the investigation, the accused admitted to the offense he was accused of and provided explanations that are consistent with the established facts – says the prosecutor.
The man’s driving license was suspended. The indictment prepared by the Lublin-Północ District Prosecutor’s Office was sent to the Lublin-Zachód District Court in Lublin. The accused faces up to eight years in prison.
