Maciej Bando has been appointed undersecretary of state and government plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure – announced the Ministry of Climate and Environment. Bando is the former head of the Energy Regulatory Office.
On Monday, Maciej Bando was nominated as Undersecretary of State and government plenipotentiary for strategic energy infrastructure. The decision on this matter was made by the Prime Minister Donald Tusk. On behalf of the head of government, the appointment was presented to him by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska.
Who is Maciej Bando?
The Ministry of Climate indicated in a statement that Maciej Bando has been associated with the energy industry in the generation and distribution subsector “for decades”. “He gained his knowledge and experience as an advisor, project manager, department director and member of the management board and supervisory boards,” we read in the release.
Bando was previously the president of the Energy Regulatory Office. As indicated, after the end of his term in mid-2019, he returned to consulting activities.
Maciej Bando is a graduate of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology and postgraduate studies in “Business and Management”. It was added that he is also the winner of many awards and distinctions, including: EuroPower “Person of the Year”, “Polish Energy Amber”, “Platinum Megawatt” (Polish Power Exchange award), “Optimus” (Polish Employers’ award).
