We all feel great sorrow today. Mikołaj was actually hounded by the lack of discretion, the lack of delicacy, by the bad intention of the authorities – said Donald Tusk after the funeral of the 15-year-old son of the Civic Platform MP Magdalena Filiks.

Member of the Civic Coalition Magdalena Filiks informed on Friday evening about her son’s death Santa. The boy was 15 years old, he committed suicide. It is impossible to unequivocally judge the reasons for taking one’s own life, the investigation into the death of the 15-year-old is being conducted by the Szczecin prosecutor’s office. According to the head of the state commission on pedophiles, Błażej Kmieciak, at the turn of the year, the government media led to the identification of the MP’s son as a victim of a convicted pedophile.

The statement was later made by the head of PO, Donald Tusk. – Together we participated in the very sad funeral ceremonies of Mikołaj, the son of our MP, friend Magda Filiks – he said, standing among other politicians of the Civic Coalition.

What we all feel today is a great regret. Mikołaj took his own life, he was a victim of a crime – said Tusk. – Mother did everything to make this suffering as small as possible, for this discretion was needed. Unfortunately, after some time, some decided that it could be made a political matter. Mikołaj was actually hounded by the lack of discretion, lack of delicacy, by the bad intention of the authorities and the so-called public media, assessed the PO leader.

He emphasized that “a terrible thing happened, a very young man took his own life.” – It’s against nature, against our whole life, when parents bury their children. We feel great sympathy for this unimaginable tragedy. We want to express great solidarity towards Magda Filiks – said Donald Tusk.

Tusk: It can’t happen again

– We would like to say to Magda Filiks: hold on, survive. But we also want to say that no one has the right to touch her sensitivity again. The state was supposed to take care of this family who became a victim of crime, he said.

– We hear that those who have the right to feel morally bad would like to shift some of the responsibility off themselves and perhaps redirect it to the mother. Together, we want to warn everyone who would like to continue making politics out of this tragedy. Really – something terrible has already happened, and that’s enough. You have no right to hurt the person who suffered the greatest loss, the mother, said the PO chairman.

As he said, “mother and son behaved with dignity during an extremely difficult time for them.” – They should be able to count on the help of the state, the help of the authorities, the help of officers and the help – if needed – of the public media. And they became victims of the state. This cannot happen again, Tusk said.

A minute of silence in the Parliament

On Tuesday morning, the Sejm observed a minute of silence in memory of the deceased teenager. – The tragic death of a loved one is always a tragedy, and the death of a child is an unimaginable tragedy. This affected the son of our friend, an MP. Let’s stop for a moment, ladies and gentlemen, I am asking you to commemorate the tragically deceased boy with a minute of silence – said the Marshal of the Sejm, Elżbieta Witek, and the deputies stood up.
