For the second time this week, the services intervened in a nursing home in Majdan near Warsaw. Several dozen fire brigades fought the fire. In the morning, firefighters returned to the barracks, but a few hours later smoke started rising from the building again. There are no injuries.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 2 a.m. at 65 Lubelska Street in Majdan in the Wiązowna commune. As Tomasz Zieliński from tvnwarszawa.pl found out, the fire broke out in a nursing home located there.
– A total of 11 units of the state and volunteer fire brigades, an operational group from the provincial headquarters and the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Otwock worked on site – Zieliński learned. – There were no injuries. Police officers also carried out their activities on site, the reporter added.
Before 9 a.m. Zieliński learned that firefighters had to return to the scene of the incident. – Smoke started coming out of the roof again. Three fire brigades intervened, said Tomasz Zieliński.
“The roof was on fire again”
Volunteer firefighters also described the action on social media. They reported that the roof and first floor of the building were on fire.
“Fire-fighting operations were carried out from the outside of the building using mechanical ladders, as well as from inside the building, using several water jets. After locating the source of the fire, further activities of firefighters from the State Fire Service and the Volunteer Fire Department consisted of pouring the fire and searching it. The entire operation ended in the morning. ” – said firefighters from the Świdry Małe Volunteer Fire Department.
