On Saturday, there was a fire at an inn in Tuszynek Majoracki near Łódź. The roof of the building burned down and eight people had been evacuated from it earlier. Due to heavy smoke, the former national route 1 between Łódź and Piotrków Trybunalski was blocked, but the difficulties have now ended.

The fire in the inn in Tuszynek Majoracki (Tuszyn commune, Łódź province) broke out before 7 a.m. The fire spread very quickly. 30 fire brigades from the entire Łódź Voivodeship took part in the fire extinguishing operation.

– The fire initially started inside the building, then it was extinguished and the rooms were smoke-free. There was probably a spark left somewhere and the roof started burning from it – said Brigadier Jędrzej Pawlak, press spokesman for the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service in Łódź. – Eight people were evacuated, one of them was provided with medical assistance, there was no need for hospitalization – he added.

After 6 p.m., the fire brigade announced that the firefighting operation was ending. The roof of the “Karczma we millie” restaurant burned down.

Heavy smoke and difficulties on the road

Due to heavy smoke and firefighting operations, national road number 12 was closed to traffic in both directions for some time. Cars were diverted.

In the afternoon, national road No. 12 near Tuszynek Majoracki was already passable.
