Makówka. Military vehicle drove into a ditch. Injured soldiers

The soldiers were returning from a patrol. At one point, they drove into a ditch in Makówka (Podlaskie Province). One of them was taken to hospital by helicopter, the other two by ambulance. The case is being investigated by the gendarmerie.

According to Major Magdalena Kościńska, spokeswoman for WZZ Podlasie, the incident took place today at approximately 9 a.m. in the town of Makówka in Hajnówka County.

– Soldiers from the 2nd Reconnaissance Regiment who were returning from a patrol were injured – he noted.

They pulled over to the side of the road and then into a ditch.

As we read in a statement by the General Command of the Armed Forces, the vehicle in which they were traveling drove off the roadside and then into a ditch.

“One soldier was transported by LPR helicopter to the hospital in Białystok, the other two by ambulance to the hospital in Hajnówka,” the statement reads.

The gendarmerie is handling the case

The soldiers' lives are not in danger.

– The Military Police in Białystok will deal with the investigation into the matter – emphasizes Major Kościńska.
