In “Women’s Choice”, Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan recalls the day when she found out that she would not be able to have children. – This is also a moment that is really difficult. (…) I remember my reaction, I remember who I called first. To Mom. And I was surprised by her answer because she said to me, “Don’t worry.” To me it seemed like it was the end of the world. (…) Those were the times when in vitro was a bit of a flight into space. My oldest son is eighteen now, so it was over nineteen years ago, almost twenty, so the emotions around it were completely different than now. And because of my motherhood repeated three times, I can see how these emotions have changed over the years – she says. Rozenek-Majdan has three children born using this method. – I even asked my sons when they were younger – if you had any problem with this, or if you wouldn’t like me to speak out about it. And my older son said: Mom, it’s a bit like someone stigmatizing us because we broke our leg. They really have that attitude. This is the approach in countries where there is no political in vitro debate. It’s simply a medical procedure, like having an appendix removed or repairing a broken leg, he says.

The presenter also admitted that this decision requires sacrifices from the woman. – When signing the consent to the in vitro procedure, we sign a paragraph in which we clearly state that we will not make any life-important decisions during and for 30 days from the end of the administration of hormonal drugs. We will not divorce, sell houses or buy apartments because it is so burdensome. It’s not just a matter of the fact that I was able to gain three kilos in one night, she said. She also added that “there are women who really endure the procedure tragically.”
