“Today, at 11 a.m., the first reading of the civil bill on in vitro. Thank you, we are all very happy,” Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan reminded her fans on Instagram. The TVN star is currently on Wiejska Street and is observing the Sejm proceedings. During her speech, MP Agnieszka Pomaska, chairwoman of the Legislative Initiative Committee “Yes for in vitro”, thanked her for her presence and involvement in collecting signatures for the project.

– The in vitro procedure is as ethical as possible. All you need to do is read carefully about it, said Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan in front of the TVN24 camera, several minutes before the start of the Sejm session. On Monday, she wrote on Instagram: “I am glad that the promise given to Poles, including 500,000 citizens who signed the draft bill, will be kept. Thanks to this, the dreams of many families about having children will be fulfilled.” The star, who runs the MRM foundation, is an ambassador of the “Yes to in vitro” initiative, promoting a citizens’ bill that assumes reimbursement of the procedure from the state budget.

Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan about in vitro

Małgorzata Rozenek-Majdan cooperated with the Civic Coalition on the draft bill for several months. In June, she took part in the sessions of the Sejm. – I stand before you as a mother. Mother of three children born thanks to the in vitro method. (…) I was a patient of infertility treatment clinics for a very long time. If it weren’t for the opportunity that in vitro gave me, I would probably never have become a mother. And this is the most important thing I can experience in life, she said. Her three sons: 17-year-old Stanisław, 13-year-old Tadeusz (their father is actor Jacek Rozenek) and 3-year-old Henryk, were born thanks to in vitro. The star does not hide the fact that she and Radosław Majdan have been trying to have their youngest child for three years. “We put a lot of effort into it, all our hearts. It’s a miracle of God that I don’t glow in the dark after the number of different hormone cocktails I received,” she said in “Viva”.

In vitro reimbursement project in the Sejm

The citizens’ bill on in vitro reimbursement was submitted in March this year, in the Sejm of the previous term. However, civic projects are not subject to continuation and work on them may continue even after the change of Parliament. According to the draft amendment to the Act on health care services financed from public funds, the Minister of Health would develop, implement, implement and finance a health policy program for infertility treatment, covering medical procedures of assisted reproduction, including in vitro fertilization. The project specifies the minimum amount of financial resources from the state budget to be allocated annually for the implementation of the program – not less than PLN 500 million. According to the schedule, today the MPs will only consider the citizens’ bill on in vitro refunds. The plan provides for 10-minute statements on behalf of the clubs and a 5-minute statement on behalf of the teams. The head of the Civic Platform, candidate for prime minister, spoke in the Sejm about the civic initiative to restore financing for the in vitro procedure Donald Tusk. – A year ago, we undertook this effort together with thousands of Polish men and women. We have collected half a million signatures under this project and tomorrow the final battle for the hopes and dreams of having their own children for many, many Polish families will begin – he announced. – I want to emphasize that the act on in vitro financing is a joint undertaking of the entire future ruling coalition, the so-called democratic coalition. I don’t think any political project has gained such clear, enthusiastic, common action and intention to implement this law as quickly as possible, so that Poles can regain hope for a chance, for parenthood, for motherhood, for fatherhood, Tusk said.
