BERLIN — A person with a earlier conviction for membership within the Islamic State group has been detained in Germany and is below investigation on suspicion of conspiring to commit homicide, prosecutors mentioned Wednesday.

The 29-year-old, whose identification wasn’t launched consistent with German privateness guidelines, was detained Tuesday at his residence within the western metropolis of Duisburg.

Prosecutors in Duesseldorf mentioned there have been indications the suspect “might have been involved with an individual resident overseas in a criminally related means.” They didn’t elaborate.
