– There are a number of cases where without this procedure, many couples would have no chance of having children – said Professor Marian Szamatowicz, a pioneer of the in vitro method in Poland, on TVN24. The doctor watched the parliamentary debate on the restoration of in vitro financing from the state budget and criticized the speech of Confederation MP Grzegorz Braun. – In vitro is one of the methods of treatment. The Nobel Prize was awarded, and MP Braun comes out and talks such nonsense, you can’t listen to it, said Szamatowicz.

On Wednesday, November 22, the Sejm held the first reading of the “Yes to in vitro” project, which is to restore state reimbursement of this method in the amount of at least PLN 500 million per year. The majority of parties supported further work on the project. She just didn’t do it Confederation. Our reporter talked to Professor Marian Szamatowicz, who in 1987 performed the first successful in vitro fertilization procedure in Poland.

The creator of in vitro responds to the MP of the Confederation

In a conversation with a TVN24 reporter, Marian Szamatowicz admitted that he watched yesterday’s parliamentary debate on the restoration of in vitro financing in Poland. What upset him most was the speech of Confederation MP Grzegorz Braun.

– I felt like spitting on the TV when the MP was speaking. I decided to write a separate article about yesterday’s debate. She had a dual character. This is a disease. The disease must be treated. In vitro is one of the methods of treatment, the Nobel Prize has been awarded, and MP Braun comes out and talks such nonsense, you can’t listen to it – said Professor Szamatowicz. Let’s remind MP Grzegorz Braun said during yesterday’s parliamentary debatethat “a normal person longs for offspring”, but there are “wicked ways to satisfy this longing”. – If there is a problem, let’s diagnose it, but let’s not look for solutions from hell. I am submitting a motion to reject this project at first reading, Braun said.

Over 100,000 children in Poland, approximately 10 million in the world

In 1987, Professor Marian Szamatowicz performed the first successful human fertilization procedure in Poland using the in vitro method. After this procedure, a girl was born. – Mrs. Magda is currently 36 years old, I wished her well on November 12. We remain in close contact. Thanks to this method, normal children are born, in Poland it is said that over 100,000 were born, while in the world there are already about 10 million – emphasized the professor.

Without in vitro, many couples would have no chance of having children

– In vitro is one of the methods of treating infertility. There are a number of cases where without in vitro, many couples would not have a chance to have their own offspring. At the moment – I don’t know if it’s good luck or bad luck – the male factor is becoming the dominant factor, which means that men have fewer and fewer mobile sperm and here in vitro fertilization is an absolutely necessary method, there is no other option. For example, Magda, whom I mentioned, would never have been born if it weren’t for the in vitro method – recalled the precursor of in vitro in Poland.
