“We want to fight for freedom and democracy”

The organizers expect hundreds of thousands of people from different parts of Poland. They – from the early hours of the morning – went to the capital, by coaches and trains. In Wałbrzych, one of the residents said: – I oppose the government’s policy and what is happening. It is unthinkable that in a democratic country commissions should be appointed that can convict a person. It is unbelivable.

Roman Szełemej, the president of Wałbrzych, explained: – We are going for this and we are together to say that on June 4, 1989 we decided what kind of Poland we want: free, democratic, European, which we later confirmed in a referendum, civic and one that is fair and lawful.

In Szczecin, a TVN24 reporter talked to a group of people waiting for the bus to depart. – I could not stay at home when the political situation is what it is and such a glorious, popular mobilization is organized – said one of the passengers. “You have to do something, you can’t just say you’re against it. It’s enough, I don’t want to be back in the People’s Republic of Poland, added another.

People travel from Wrocław to Warsaw by trains, among other things. We want to fight for freedom and democracy. We oppose what is happening in our country – noted one of the women. – Many years ago we fought communism and it never occurred to us that we would fight communism again after so many years. What he did PIS it’s a commune, as mature people we remember it. We want to oppose it,’ commented a passenger standing next to her.

Young people also left the capital of Lower Silesia. – The voice of young people is always important. Whether they will listen to him is another matter. Democracy is about manifesting our views and beliefs and fighting for a better life for everyone – said one of them.
