We have our priorities, and of course we also have points on which we disagree, but this is not something that cannot be overcome – said Anna Maria Żukowska (New Left) in “Kropka nad i” about the announcement of the coalition agreement by the opposition. – At the next session of the Sejm, we will elect the Presidium of the Sejm. After elections parliamentary president Andrzej Duda held consultations with representatives of electoral committees that will be represented in the next Sejm. On Thursday, he announced that there are two serious candidates for the position of prime minister. He clarified that he was the PiS candidate Mateusz Morawieckiand KO, Third Way and Left – Donald Tusk. The democratic opposition can count on 248 seats in the new Sejm, and PiS – on 194, so there is no majority (231).

Explaining his decision on the lack of nomination for the office of prime minister, the president also said that on the side of today’s opposition “there is no coalition agreement at the moment and that therefore it is not yet possible to responsibly name specific people who will be presented as candidates.” on ministers.

The case was commented on in “Kropka nad i” by Marcin Kierwiński (Civic Coalition). – We’ll do it very, very quickly. At the next session of the Sejm, we will elect the Presidium of the Sejm. This will be the first such open declaration that we have this majority. This will be proof that the opposition has this majority. Then we hope that President Duda will no longer tell nonsense about the fact that he does not know whether anyone has a majority – he said.

– It’s really not difficult, you can count to 248. Then the mission of forming a government for Donald Tusk, presenting the cabinet – he added.

He also said that “the coalition agreement is really a prospect for next week.” – It will be finished, agreed upon, well thought out. This coalition, when it comes to the actual side, is in fact concluded because all the leaders of the opposition parties said: yes, we will create this government. The final, natural arrangements are underway, he said.

Anna Maria Żukowska also spoke about the coalition agreement (New Left). – It will be announced in due time, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I also warn some people who would like to be known in some way for announcing something first. This is not a race. This race is already over. This race was with Law and Justice, we won this race, she said.

Żukowska also recalled the 2019 European Parliament elections, when most opposition groups formed one election committee. – We have a history of cooperation, not easy cooperation. (…) There was also a program issue, there were negotiations (…) regarding many things and they consist in the fact that everyone actually has their own priorities and in the end we create something together – she said.
