MP Marcin Ociepa resigns from membership in the Agreement. “Due to the difference of opinion as to the vision of the future of the Covenant party, and especially as to what majority should be built in this and the next parliament, I decided to resign from membership in the party” – he wrote on Twitter.
On Wednesday morning the MP Marcin Ociepa resigned from the function of deputy minister of national defense. As he said, it is a gesture of solidarity with Jarosław Gowin, the leader of the Covenant, and until Tuesday also the deputy prime minister and minister of development, labor and technology. Ociepa also made a reservation at the time that he had not yet made a decision as to whether he would leave the PiS club with Gowin.
Marcin Ociepa leaves the Agreement
In the evening, he informed that he was leaving the Agreement. “I believe that a strong Poland can only be served by the government of the United Right. Due to the difference of opinion as to the vision of the future of the Covenant party, and in particular which majority should be built in this and the next parliament, I decided to resign from membership in the party” – wrote the politician on Twitter.
On Wednesday, there were reports that Marcin Ociepa was to become the new minister of development, labor and technology, but he denied these rumors. – There was no such proposal, nobody talked to me for me to take over the ministry after Jarosław Gowin, said Ociepa.
During Wednesday’s votes in the Sejm, Ociepa voted in the same way as the Law and Justice MPs. Among other things, he supported the reassumption of the vote on the postponement of the chamber’s deliberations until 2 September.
