Szymon Marciniak he is one of the best judges in Europe and in the world. That is why there is more and more talk about the future of the referee from PÅ‚ock, who could move at any time to a place where he would earn much more than in Poland. However, it is not known how FIFA and UEFA would react to such a move, so for now Marciniak still decides to referee in Ekstraklasa.
Szymon Marciniak responds to Mateusz Borek regarding the contract with PZPN. It couldn't be clearer
All this sparks discussions and further unconfirmed reports about the situation and future of Szymon Marciniak.
– I received information that the best Polish judge, one of the best judges in the world, if not the best judge in the world, Szymon Marciniak, judges Ekstraklasa matches and he does not have this professional contract – said Mateusz Borek in the “Moc Futbolu” program on Channel Sportowy.
– I deny the information that appeared today (December 16) in the media. The contract with the federation is valid and since I cannot discuss its details – it is governed by a confidentiality clause – this is my only comment on this matter – Szymon Marciniak told the WP SportoweFakty portal.
Referee expert TVP Sport Rafał Rostkowski explained what could have caused doubts in this matter.
“For 10 referees and 13 assistant referees Polish Football Association prepared new professional referee contracts this year. These included, among other things, a salary increase. When the Polish Football Association already had contracts signed by other referees, Szymon Marciniak's one was still unsigned… The lack of a signature on Szymon Marciniak's contract became louder in the referee community in the summer. Neither the referee, Tomasz Mikulski, nor anyone from the PZPN authorities commented on it officially,” wrote Rostkowski.
In his opinion, Marciniak plans to coach Ekstraklasa matches for another year and a half. – The most likely possibilities were that Szymon Marciniak did not want to sign because he did not want to be associated with the PZPN for a long time, or he did not want to sign because he did not like some of the contents of the contract. Maybe he was playing some kind of negotiating game, or he was simply too busy and didn't have time to complete the formalities – added RafaÅ‚ Rostkowski.
