It is not true that the US has completely broke the contacts between their and Ukrainian services – said the chairman of the Sejm Special Service Committee Marek Biernacki. The situation in Ukraine was one of the topics of a closed committee meeting. He forecasted that “Russians would play Americans and try to use them.” He also talked about the prevention of the acts of diversion by the Polish services and the hybrid war. – For me, the hybrid war was an infosfer, media, press. Now we have physical attacks, spoiling something, diversion – he noted.
The Sejm Commission for Special Services became acquainted on Thursday at an uncomfortable meeting with information from the Internal Security Agency on the current political and military situation in Ukraine and Russia.
Its chairman MP Marek Biernacki (PSL-Trzecia Road) informed in an interview with PAP that all MPs rated this part of the meeting very highly. He noted that already during Wednesday's meeting – when they had positively approved the applications for dismissal of the boss CBA and her deputies – MPs got acquainted with information about the current situation behind the eastern border, prepared by the Eastern Studies Center.
– The Intelligence Agency showed us various variants of this very dynamically changing reality, and the military intelligence service presented us a military situation on the front and military resources that are in the game – he calculated. As he said, “Reflection after this information is, however, that the American policy of President Donald Trump is unpredictable and what will continue to happen, they are not able to predict not only our services, but I also suspect that even American services.”
Biernacki: Americans did not completely break contacts with Ukrainian services
He said that military assessments show that Ukraine manages, and even if the war does not end with peace, this year Russia will not be able to defeat Ukraine.
– Ukraine is prepared, has a large army, fights, has brave soldiers. Europe's support is also priceless for her. However, we will see how the Americans will behave further – said the chairman of the committee. – We expect the Russians to play Americans and try to use them. It can be a collision of the world of Trump's administration with a calculated Russian policy – he assessed. He added that he could not reveal the details of these premises and information because they are closed.
– However, I can say that it is not true, that the Americans completely broke off all contacts between their and Ukrainian services – he said.

As the Institute of War Studies (ISW) noted in the Thursday analysis, it is one of the many demands of the Kremlin towards the USA, Ukraine and its allies.

On Thursday, MPs also listened to information on the ABW information about the prevention by the Polish Special Services of Diversion Acts, which are part of the hybrid war.
– We had a longer meeting in this matter, and the head of the Internal Security Agency Rafał Syrysko presented a wider picture and a whole of such activities. You can see that this happens on a large scale. It is not only aggression in the infoster, but also in the physical sphere – diversion or sabotage and not only in Poland, but in Europe – said the head of the commission.
As he assessed, it can be seen that these are actions taken by Russian services, and the Polish services counteracting this work effectively and are very highly valued.
Among the subversive events thwarted by Polish services, he mentioned the cases of putting on cameras, preparing for derailment of trains or an attempt at the assassination – arson in Wrocław. – Anyway, the person who organized and mediated these activities managed to bring to Poland – added Biernacki.
According to him, changed regulations on punishing such actions to the detriment of Poland, because with old regulations, he could have been caught by a sentence of two years in prison, which did not work quite preventively and deterrent. “These last sentences reach up to six or eight years in prison,” he reminded.
The chairman of the committee said that the people involved in these activities were “not only from Poland and the closest countries, but it can be said from around the world.” – Ways of action showed that they were people trained by service or from the criminal environment, former criminals, because for some behavior an ordinary man would not be capable – he assessed.
– Here the services cooperate, they work very well together. There were several spectacular successes of the Polish special services, which were also used by Western services, but let's not hide, these services support us very much in these matters – he said.
According to Biernacki, the current situation is “crossing another rubikon”. – For me, the hybrid war was an infosfer, media, press. Now we have physical attacks, spoiling something, diversion – he noted.
He noted that a lot of arson is analyzed by ABW in terms of possible subversive action. The services also try to catch the perpetrators of this kind of deeds every time, which works preventive.
In addition to Biernacki, two Vice-President Mirosław Suchoń (Poland2050-TD) and Waldemar Andzel (Poland 2050-TD) sit in the seven-person parliamentary committee for special services.PIS).
