The STU Theater in Krakow announced on Friday that Marek Litewka had died. The actor played over 100 theater and film roles. He was 75 years old.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our friend, an outstanding theater and film actor Marek Litewka. His artistic achievements included over 100 theater and film roles. At the STU Theater he appeared in ‘Other Delights’, ‘Maiden’s Vows’, ‘The Inspector’, ‘Hamlet’ ‘, ‘King Lear’ and ‘The Fiends’,” the STU Theater in Krakow announced on its website, expressing regret and sympathy to the people closest to the actor.

Many roles of a Lithuanian woman

Marek Litewka was born on August 6, 1948 in Kraków. He graduated from the Academy of Theater Arts. S. Wyspiański (then Higher Theater School) in this city. Before he joined the STU Theater, he played on the stage of the Theater. L. Solski in Tarnów, Stary Teatr im. H. Modrzejewska and Bagatela in Kraków. He also appeared in performances of the Polish Television Theater and programs of the Polish Radio Theater.

As for his filmography, he could be seen in the following series: “Na Wspólnej”, “Świat dla Kiepskich”, “First Love”, “Janosik. A True Story”. He also played, among others, in “The Adventures of the Good Soldier Švejk”, “The Lady of the Camellias”, “Karol. The Man Who Became Pope”, “Love on the Runway”.
