Information about the arrest of PiS politicians Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik appeared after 7 p.m. It was first reported by investigative journalist Robert Zieliński on TVN24. – Former Law and Justice MPs were detained by police officers on the premises of the Presidential Palace – he said.
After 8 p.m., TVN Warszawa reporter Artur Węgrzynowicz announced that the convicted politicians were transported to the police headquarters at Grenadier Street in Warsaw.
About an hour later, TVN24 reporter Bartłomiej Ślak reported that Mariusz Kamiński got into an unmarked police car and left the police station at Grenadier Street. The moment when Kamiński got into the car and was transported was captured on camera.
Before 10 p.m., the politicians were taken to the remand center in Grochów. TVN24 reporter Jan Piotrowski was on site, at the arrest, and followed the course of events.
Police: people were brought to the penitentiary unit
“The persons against whom activities were carried out, in accordance with the court order, were brought to the appropriate penitentiary unit,” the Warsaw police also wrote a moment later on the X platform.
Detention of Kamiński and Wąsik
The heads of the Ministry of Interior and Administration commented on the information about the detentions. “Everyone is equal before the law,” wrote the Minister of Interior and Administration briefly Marcin Kierwiński.
“Detained in accordance with the court’s order” – such an entry appeared on the profile of Czesław Mroczek, deputy head of this ministry.

On Tuesday during the day, Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik took part in the ceremony of appointing new advisors Andrzej Duda in the Presidential Palace. Later, around 3 p.m. they went outside the Palace, but did not hand themselves over to the police, but only made a statement.
However, around 6 p.m. the presidential column left the palace. The head of state went to the Belvedere Palace to meet Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Around 7:30 p.m., President Duda returned to the palace.
PiS politicians in front of the police station and the detention center
Jarosław Kaczyński, Przemysław Czarnek, Radosław Fogiel and Ryszard Terlecki, among others, appeared in front of the police headquarters where the convicted PiS politicians were staying. The police did not let them inside. PiS MP Radosław Fogiel said that the police were acting against the law and the MPs would continue the intervention.
Later, Kaczyński and other PiS parliamentarians also appeared in front of the detention center.
