The court’s ruling in the case of Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik is scheduled for December 20, informed the representatives of the subsidiary prosecutors, attorneys Wojciech Wiza and Jacek Dubois. The case of the former heads of the CBA has an almost ten-year history. In March 2015, the district court sentenced them to three years in prison for, among other things, exceeding their powers. They were then pardoned by President Andrzej Duda.

At the beginning of June, the Supreme Court in the Criminal Chamber overturned the discontinuation of the case of the former bosses CBA made in March 2016 by the District Court in Warsaw in connection with the application by the president Andrzej Duda by way of pardon towards the former heads of the CBA II who were convicted of operational activities during the “land scandal”, he referred the case for re-examination.

Tuesday’s hearing at the Warsaw district court lasted about two hours and was conducted in secret, without the participation of the public and media, in a special room intended for secret hearings. Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik did not appear in court.

The ruling will be announced on December 20 and will be public.

The date of announcement of the judgment was announced on Tuesday after leaving the hearing by the representatives of the subsidiary prosecutors in this case – lawyers Wojciech Wiza and Jacek Dubois.

– The expectation is that the court will uphold the district court’s judgment, Wiza told reporters.

– After so many years, I hope that the trial will come to an end. Defense speeches were received today. The verdict will be announced publicly on December 20, because this is what the procedural rules provide for, and I think that all citizens will be able to find out what happened in this case, Dubois emphasized.

The case of the former heads of the CBA has an almost ten-year history. In March 2015, the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Court sentenced Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik to three years in prison, among others, for exceeding the powers and illegal operational activities of the CBA during the “land scandal” in 2007. Two other former members of the CBA management were sentenced to two and a half years each.

Before the verdict became final, President Andrzej Duda pardoned Kamiński and Wąsik in 2015.
