Masovian policemen carried out the “Kurier – locally” campaign. They controlled drivers of vans. The results are shocking. 673 seats were inserted, 42 applications for punishment were sent to court. In addition, 44 cars were not suitable for driving.
On Thursday and Friday, policemen from the Masovian road and road cells from the field units of the Mazovian police garrison carried out the “Kurier – locally” campaign for the first time. The reason for the inspection were signals of the frequent violation of the rules by this group of traffic participants.
Police officers inspected 22,89 van drivers, including 625 courier. It turned out, among others, that the seven drivers got behind the wheel after alcohol, and four led under the influence of intoxicants. In these cases, driving licenses were detained. In turn, three drivers had vehicles.

Without permission with food inside
In Gostynin, police detained a Fiat bus for road control. “The vehicle was driven by a 59 -year -old resident of Brodnica who did not have the right to drive this type of vehicle,” said young asp. Paweł Klimek from the police in Gostynin. The man dealt with the transport of food products. “Transporting goods requiring special transport conditions without appropriate qualifications can pose a threat both in traffic and in the scope of sanitary safety,” he added. As he emphasized, for his offense, the man will answer before the court.
In Radom, in turn, the police controlled a total of 322 vehicles, including 73 cars of couriers. The uniforms were detained by two drivers who were under the influence of alcohol. “In Rajiec Pillowy, the 44 -year -old managed Peugeot having close to alcohol in the body. Policemen detained a man's driving license,” said Justyna Jaśkiewicz from the police in Radom.
In Płock, officers came across eight drivers performing courier services who committed offenses. “They concerned, inter alia, the failure to comply with the sign and incorrect technical condition of vehicles,” she said. Monika Jakubowska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Płock.
Fines fell apart
“During the inspections, a total of 821 legal measures for traffic offenses were used, including those against pedestrian safety. Policemen issued 673 penalty seats, and against 42 drivers sent applications for punishment to the courts” – we read in the Mazovian police message.
Policemen also had many reservations about the technical condition of controlled cars, therefore registration documents were detained in 44 cases.

The officers appealed to drivers, especially those who professionally deal with transport, for prudence and responsibility on the road. “Remember that professional drivers are required special caution and compliance with the rules, because their behavior has a direct impact on the safety of all participants of the movement,” they emphasized.
Tragedy in Warsaw
Controls are the aftermath of, among others A tragic accident that occurred at the beginning of January in the area of the intersection of Ordona and Jan Kazimierz streets at a marked pedestrian crossing. The bus driver hit a 14-year-old boy, did not help him and escaped from the scene. The teenager was taken to the hospital, where he died.
A 43-year-old bus driver, suspected of causing an accident, had nearly 2 alcohol per body at the time of arrest. He worked in a courier company as a driver and warehouseman. He was previously punished, he had a driving license and a court ban on driving vehicles from April 2023.
In the Warsaw-Wola prosecutor's office, procedural activities were held with a suspected driver of the white van Andrzej K., to whom two allegations were announced. “The first concerns causing a fatal accident in road traffic, associated with the escape from the scene of the incident. (…) the second of these acts is a violation of the ban on driving vehicles in land traffic” – explained prosecutor Piotr Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
A request for detention was sent to the court suspect. The court accepted this conclusion and the driver will spend the next three months in custody.
