The attention of city guards from Płock was drawn to a Renault parked in an unauthorized place. Behind the wheel was a 31-year-old man who admitted that he had never had a driving license. The passenger, who turned out to be the man's mother, convinced the officers that her son was driving “safely”.

As announced on Monday by the spokeswoman of the Płock City Guard, Chief Insp. Jolanta Głowacka, the incident took place at the end of last week on one of the streets in the city center. The officers' attention was drawn to a Renault parked behind a “no stopping” sign.

It turned out that the driver of the car was a 31-year-old resident of Płock. After checking his ID, the city guards wanted to verify the man's license to drive motor vehicles and then he admitted that he did not have a driving license. “He explained that it was true that 'he once attended a course, but he never completed it',” Głowacka said.

She added that when asked why he drove a car without a driving license, the 31-year-old said with a smile on his face that he drove safely. “The man was in the car with his mother, who, to confirm her son's words, carelessly added: 'Gentlemen, look for a driver who drives safely and with a candle',” emphasized the spokeswoman of the Płock City Guard.

Police arrived

The arguments of the Renault driver and his mother did not convince the city guards, who called a police patrol to the spot.

“In fact, after checking the database, it turned out that the 31-year-old had never had a driving license,” said Płock police spokeswoman Sgt. pcs. Monika Jakubowska. She noted that the case of the Renault driver would soon be brought to court.
