Investigators found that an organized criminal group operated in Siedlce and other towns, deriving millions of dollars in profits from prostitution practiced by almost 100 women. Its members had firearms and drugs. The District Court in Siedlice sentenced six people. The proceedings regarding the so-called the Siedlce group “Grochal” and “Gruby”.
The press department of the National Prosecutor’s Office explained that the Masovian branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office led to the conviction of members of the so-called Siedlce group. Among the convicted are Karol R. alias Lolek, his father Dariusz R., his wife Sylwia R. and people collaborating with them: Katarzyna Ch., Nicola L., Elżbieta D.
– The District Court in Siedlice sentenced the defendants: Karol R. alias Lolek, Dariusz R., Sylwia R., Katarzyna Ch., Nicola L., Elżbieta D. for all the acts accused of them in the indictment – added PK.
Karol R. alias Lolek was sentenced to a total penalty of 9 years of imprisonment and a total fine of PLN 14,000. zloty. Dariusz R. was sentenced to a total penalty of 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment and a total fine of PLN 15,000.
– The court also ordered the forfeiture of the equivalent of financial benefits obtained by the defendants from the crimes committed, compensation to the injured party, and compensation under the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction – the prosecutor’s office said.
Drugs and weapons
Sylwia R. and Katarzyna Ch. were sentenced to 1 year of imprisonment with conditional suspension for a probation period of 3 years. The court obliged the defendants during the probation period to refrain from staying in places where paid sexual services are provided, and during the probation period, the women were placed under the supervision of a probation officer. The court also imposed a fine on Sylwia R. in the amount of PLN 7,000. zloty. and ordered the forfeiture to the State Treasury of “the equivalent of the financial benefit obtained from the crime committed in the amount of over PLN 324,000”, and Katarzyna Ch. a fine of also PLN 7,000. PLN and forfeiture to the State Treasury of “the equivalent of the financial benefit obtained from the crime committed in the amount of over PLN 338,000”.
Nicola L. was sentenced to 6 months’ imprisonment with conditional suspension for a probation period of 1 year. The court obliged the accused during the probation period to refrain from staying in places where sexual services are provided for payment and imposed a fine of PLN 2,000. zloty.
Elżbieta D. was sentenced to 4 months’ imprisonment with conditional suspension for a probation period of 1 year. The court obliged the accused during the probation period to inform the court in writing once every 6 months about the course of the probation period and imposed a fine of PLN 7,500. zloty. – The court ordered forfeiture to the State Treasury of the equivalent of the financial benefits obtained from the committed crime in the amount of PLN 51,000 – said the prosecutor’s office.
Moreover, Karol R. alias In the gang, Lolek was also involved in the production of amphetamines and drug trafficking. His father, the accused Dariusz R., was also involved in the criminal drug trade. The accused Karol R. was also charged with possessing a firearm in the form of a Scorpion submachine gun without a permit and with possessing drugs. His father, Dariusz R., was also accused of this.
A front company that rents real estate
Investigators found that an organized criminal group operated in Siedlce and other towns, whose members had firearms and other dangerous items, such as machetes, telescopic batons and brass knuckles. One of its members was the convicted Karol R., who was mainly responsible for running a network of escort agencies in this group.
– Karol R. involved his father Dariusz R. and his wife Sylwia R. in the criminal business. In order to hide the criminal activity, they founded a company that was officially supposed to rent real estate on a daily basis. In fact, escort agencies operated in a rented single-family house and a number of apartments located in Siedlce and other towns, employing a total of almost 100 women, the National Prosecutor’s Office reported.
She explained that according to the rules set by the group members, women providing sex services had to pay PLN 250 per day for the opportunity to work in a studio apartment or PLN 150 per day for the opportunity to work in an apartment or house together with other women, regardless of how many clients they had. on a given day.
Over two million in two years
During the two years of running escort agencies, criminals achieved income of almost PLN 1.3 million. In a single-family house where an escort agency operated, there was a bar where alcoholic beverages were sold without a permit. – This was mainly handled by the accused Dariusz R., who was convicted of acts under Art. 43 section 1 of the Act on upbringing in sobriety and counteracting alcoholism – informed the PK.
The house where the escort agency operated was officially rented by a number of women. In this way, Karol R., Dariusz R. and Sylwia R. hoped to avoid criminal liability. On their orders, these women also published advertisements, managed the ongoing provision of sexual services, organized contacts with clients and collected money from prostituted women, which they handed over to the people in charge of the criminal activity.
In the indictment, the prosecutor accused them of profiting from fornication. The owner of the house, Elżbieta D., was also held liable in court for deriving financial benefits from prostitution by other women. According to the investigation findings, she was fully aware that the house was an escort agency.
Proceedings regarding the so-called Siedlce group
The Masovian Prosecutor’s Office, the PZ Division of the National Prosecutor’s Office, is also conducting proceedings regarding the activities of an organized armed criminal group, the so-called Siedlce group. This group was founded and led by Mirosław G. ps. Grochal and Artur Ch. ps. Fat.
Members of this group produced significant amounts of drugs, traded them, derived financial benefits from prostitution practiced by almost 100 women in at least a dozen escort agencies, traded weapons, committed crimes against property, and smuggled them from Belarus to Poland and then, among others, to Great Britain, cigarettes without Polish excise stamps with an estimated value of several hundred million zlotys.
PK noted that “members of the group also committed over 20 beatings with the use of dangerous objects in the form of knives, machetes, telescopic batons, brass knuckles, including at least one, as a result of which the injured party died.”
– The proceedings relating to these events were discontinued in the past by other prosecutor’s offices, and as a result of evidentiary activities carried out during the investigation, they were taken up and then taken over for further conduct by the Masovian PZ department, after which charges were announced against the perpetrators of these acts. The suspects’ assets resulting from the crimes committed were discovered and secured, including cash in the total amount of over PLN 1 million, expensive jewelry and a number of real estate properties, the PK reported.
Charges against 60 people
In the course of the investigation, almost 60 members of the so-called Siedlce group, including Mirosław G. ps. Grochal and Artur Ch. ps. Gruby, whom the prosecutor accused of establishing and leading an organized armed criminal group.
So far, during the investigation, several indictments have been brought to court against over 50 members of the Siedlce group. An indictment was sent to the District Court in Siedlce against, among others, 16 most important members of the group, including Mirosław G. alias Grochal and Artur Ch. ps. The heavyweights who were accused of founding and running it. 16 members of the group were accused of committing a total of 164 crimes.
In June 2022, the District Court in Siedlce issued a verdict convicting 5 members of the group who were mainly responsible for the production and marketing of legal highs that pose a serious threat to the life and health of their consumers. In this judgment, the court found the defendants guilty of all the acts charged against them and sentenced them to total imprisonment ranging from 3 years and 6 months to 12 years.
